Film: Junoon

Set against the backdrop of the , the film tells the story of Javed Khan (Shashi Kapoor), a wealthy, hot-headed, and solitary feudal lord (taluqdar) in a small North Indian town.

When the rebellion erupts and the British are being hunted, Ruth and her family are taken in for protection by a local Indian family (played by Jennifer Kendal and Shabana Azmi) to save them from the mob.
