On Startup: Windows 11 Numlock

This guide will provide various GIS resources from around the Web and at Michigan Tech.

Many smaller laptops do not have a dedicated number pad or NumLock key. However, if you use an external keyboard with your laptop, the methods above will still apply to that external keyboard.

| User Type | Suggested Method | |-----------|------------------| | Casual user | Check BIOS first. If missing, use registry edit. | | IT/Pro | Registry + disable Fast Startup. | | Laptop user without numpad | Not applicable – NumLock has no effect. |

Press Win + R , type regedit , and hit Enter.
