Rainy Day Thoughts Jun 2026

We think about the fragility of things—how the rain feeds the earth but also washes parts of it away. We contemplate the passage of time and the people we’ve lost touch with. In the sunshine, these thoughts might feel heavy or unwelcome. In the rain, they feel appropriate. They feel like a necessary emotional clearing, much like the rain clears the dust from the air. The first thing that comes to mind is the cozy comfort of being indoors on a rainy day. The world outside may be gloomy, but inside, all is warm and snug. I find myself appreciating the little things – a good book, a warm cup of coffee, and a comfortable blanket to snuggle up in. The rain creates the perfect excuse to indulge in some much-needed self-care, putting aside the hustle and bustle of daily life.
