Morris looked toward the riverbed. It was flowing rapidly. But the glint in the sun wasn't from water. It was a river of rich, brown gravy, steaming as it coursed toward the valley.
The ground rumbled. On the outskirts of town, the dry, cracked earth suddenly shifted. In a puff of powdered sugar, the barren wasteland transformed into a sprawling landscape of sand dunes made entirely of brown sugar and crumble topping.
"I... I mispronounced the spell," Morris stammered, catching a falling biscuit. "I said 'Quakprepe.' I think... I think it means 'The Great Feasting' in the old tongue."
