While waiting for Dong Zhuo, He Jin made the ultimate mistake: he walked into the palace alone to confront the eunuchs. He didn’t bring his guards. He didn’t bring Yuan Shao or Cao Cao. He walked into the dragon’s den unprotected. The eunuchs, realizing they had nothing left to lose, ambushed and beheaded him in the嘉德殿 (Jiade Hall).
