We’ve all been there. You’re deep in a cave, low on torches, and you just know there’s a vein of diamonds three blocks to your left. Wouldn’t it be nice to just... see through the stone?

(Most Common)

This is the most common type. It renders all solid ground blocks invisible while leaving ores, chests, and mobs visible.

Most “X-Ray resource pack” download sites are filled with malware, adware, or session token stealers. Since these packs are technically against Minecraft’s terms of service (when used on multiplayer servers), they aren’t hosted on safe platforms like CurseForge or Modrinth.

Here’s what happens:

Minecraft renders the world in layers. When a resource pack tells the game that "Stone Block Texture = Transparent," the game engine stops rendering the stone but keeps the collision data (so you don’t fall through the world). Consequently, players can see blocks that do have textures—like diamonds, gold, spawners, and lava—glowing in the darkness underground.
