The parotid duct is a narrow, muscular tube that originates from the anterior border of the parotid gland and traverses the masseter muscle, buccinator muscle, and buccal fat pad before emptying into the oral cavity. The duct is approximately 5-7 cm long and 2-3 mm in diameter.
