The Japan Cosmetic Industry Association (JCIA), the industry’s primary trade body, recognized that the fluidity of global commerce required a standardized dictionary. The JCID was established to bridge this gap. It operates as a comprehensive database that catalogs the technical names, INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) equivalents, CAS numbers, and Japanese standards for ingredients used in the domestic market.
