The name "Jumong" itself translates to "excellent archer" in the ancient Buyeo language, foreshadowing his destiny. However, his exceptional skills bred jealousy, particularly from the sons of King Geumwa, who viewed Jumong as a threat to their succession. Recognizing that his presence in the Buyeo court was no longer safe, Jumong made the pivotal decision to flee. This exodus is one of the most iconic scenes in the legend. Pursued by the King’s soldiers, Jumong reached the ungovernable Chungryang River. With no boat to cross, he pleaded to the heavens.
