This is an enterprise-level feature found on Windows Servers. A network administrator can create a single Group Policy Object (GPO) and link it to an entire department (e.g., "Sales Team") or the whole company. That one policy then automatically applies to hundreds or thousands of computers. The Group Policy Editor is the tool used to design those policies, whether local or domain-based.
The Local Group Policy Editor is NOT available on Windows Home editions (Windows 11 Home, Windows 10 Home). It is only included in Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions of Windows.
Group Policy Editor, also known as Local Group Policy Editor or gpedit.msc, is a Microsoft Windows component that allows administrators to configure and manage settings for Windows operating systems, applications, and user accounts. It is a graphical user interface (GUI) tool that provides a centralized way to manage and enforce security and configuration settings for Windows computers.
